Despite nearly a record number of qualifiers, only 3 swimmers attended these championships. Ghais and Lina Guarin and Hazel Leslie.

All three had a great series of swims.

Hazel Leslie made the final of the Girls 10 & 11 Years 200m Backstroke and came 6^th in a fine PB. Similarly Hazel was 6^th in the 100 Backstroke taking off another 2 seconds. 8^th in the 200 Butterfly was also another good result and on her PB and a 9th in the 200 Freestyle with a 3 second PB.

Lina Guarin just missed the final in the Girls 100 Breaststroke coming 9^th just outside her PB. Again Lena was 9^th in the 100 Fly with a 2 second PB.

Ghais Guarin was 5^th in the Boys 13 years 200 Breaststroke in a good PB taking nearly 3 seconds off.

It is somewhat disappointing that swimmers in the District Squad and Gold Squad achieving this standard are not attending. On your squad forms you are expected to attend this level of competition; it is the whole purpose of what you are training for. I know this is partly due to the short notice given by the District over the Easter period for entries. Because of this, I ran a session at Denny for the District Squad and Gold Squad and only one person, Nicole Gunn turned up. Fortunately, the session before 15 youngsters in Bronze Silver and Gold turned up and we had a fantastic session.
