As you may be aware Glasgow is currently bidding against Buenos Aires and Medellin to win the right to host the Youth Olympic Games in 2018, seeking to build on the opportunities created by both London 2012 and Glasgow 2014.
With less than three weeks until the International Olympic Committee make a decision on the host city, we want to fully mobilise UK support behind the vote. As was the case in the bid for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, public and business support is vital to bring the Games to Glasgow!
A key Olympic trade publication, Inside the Games, is running an online poll asking people to vote for the city they would like to see host the 2018 Youth Olympic Games. Voting ends on 2 July and the results will then be compiled, published and possibly read by IOC members 1 day before they cast their vote for the host city on 4 July.
The poll is at: www.glasgow2018.com/vote and I would ask you to cast your vote here.
We are also keen that the poll is circulated as widely as possible within your organisation and beyond. I attach for you to disseminate as appropriate (click on attachments below):
· Call to action text
· Sample internal briefing material which you may want to send to internal managers about the bid.
· Sample social media messaging to be used on your social media networks
For further information on the Glasgow 2018 bid, please also go to www.glasgow2018.com. Please also feel free to contact our marketing team on 0302 014 0900.
Your vote really can make a difference and I would like to sincerely thank for your support for Glasgow 2018.
