I intend to run a Denny Session this weekend particularly for Starts and Turns 15.00-1700
I need to get 20 people to make it viable.
All Squads if you are interested put name on the list (on the club notice board) £4.50 a Head paid to me.
1500 & 800 Metre Results:
Although I know the result, don’t ask me. They will be announced officially after I have spoken to the Chairman.
You will get a breakdown of your swim times but this will take me ages to do.
Some great swimming from those who took part.
Shame some of the younger swimmers did not have a go, no one was expecting 1500m from you! There were several Development Squad swimmers who had a fantastic go and we now have great times from you to enter you into events.
A huge thanks to all the Parents and senior swimmers who helped out time keeping. Recording and starting.
Please, Please, Please, read the Notice board and website, even a small time trial like this takes a lot of organising and giving swimmers swim slots. And still swimmers turned up for training!!!!!!
I am sure there will be some Club records too.
NO DENNY SESSION THIS WEEKEND SAT 9/3/2013
Hope everyone is CLYDE COAST READY!
Lindsay Young: Head Coach
Lindsay would like to congratulate all swimmers at the West District event this weekend……..very good swimming all round!
A special note for Ross Leslie who won gold in 100m Fly, whilst achieving an ICG time!
Another notable performance was from Morgan Carmichael who was placed 6th in 200m Fly, whilst also claiming a first reserve place for the final of the 100m Fly.
Please note that Denny training session is cancelled this week due to the number of swimmers at North Ayrshire meet.
Lindsay’s coach report is now listed under Events Info.

The Roads to Lindsay’s area are impassable, although Falkirk is fairly clear. Please check website in the morning for update re travel to Denny etc.
This is the second year this event has run and although the calibre of swimmer is high, I am not sure what is being gained by this event. We had six accepted entries into this meet which I was quite pleased about.
With Sickness, Exams, Christmas & New Year interrupting what should be a heavy training period for all swimmers, the swimmers from all clubs were not prepared for the meet, so consequently results are mixed, to say the least.
None of our swimmers swam faster than their entry time, although there were no poor swims most were fairly close to the time, as this was a long course event some will be long course PB’s.
Our qualifiers were:-
Ryan Doherty, Gillian Gibson, Ross Leslie, Lena Guarin, Finlay Easton, Hazel Leslie.
Congratulations to Ross Leslie with a fine 2nd place in the 100m Fly. Ross swam despite being ill and was forced to pull out of all Sundays swims.
Apart from the West District Grand Prix and the Scottish Schools Finals, this is the first proper meet of 2013 that we will be attending. January is an important month for training, particularly if your training has been disrupted for any reason over the Xmas & New Year period. So please try and attend as many sessions as possible. This is an important meet for those whose names are put forward and accepted.
For those swimmers in Rascals/Gold/West and Performance Squads, you should be gathering times for District Qualification, Scottish at Easter and the necessary DRP times for next year now!
This is the meet to start to get them. One or two folk already have got some of next year’s times and this should be one of the meets that is accredited.
Andrea Mein will be contacting those who may qualify shortly for you entry. Unfortunately we need a quick turnaround on this one. Make sure you get your entry in please.
Thank you for all the cards and gifts that I received for Christmas. I hope you all have a great time and get what your looking for. For me, the best Christmas and New Year is well attended training sessions with extra effort! This is a time to make the most of training not just taking a break. Those folk who do train will do well next year…. Not only will I be taking some of the sessions over the festive period, but I will be planning out what we will be doing next year, so it is not a complete break for me either.
