Assistance Required – Child Protection/Welfare Officer

February 2nd, 2018

The Club is currently looking for an additional Child Protection/Welfare Officer to assist our current CPO who has been carrying out the role for 4 years. Previous experience in working/dealing with children is helpful but not essential as training is provided.

The role of the Child Protection Officer is varied ranging from:
• Implementing Policy & Procedure
• Carrying out administrative work associated with processing information on new volunteers/staff
• Liaising closely with Club volunteers/staff ensuring that agreed procedures for the prevention of risk are followed
• Counsel and advise Club on matters of policy relating to Child Protection
• Raise awareness of Child Protection with parents/cares/volunteers and children involved in the Club
• Challenge behaviours which breaches Code of Conduct
• Organise/signpost appropriate training for all adults working/volunteering with children in the Club
• Respond appropriately to disclosures or concerns which relate to the well-being of a child.
• Maintain confidential records of reported cases and action taken.

Whilst the above might sound overwhelming it is not as bad as it actually may sound (honestly).
The role is essential to the running of the Club and is extremely worthwhile and rewarding.

If interested then please contact our current CPO (Amanda Kennedy) direct at the following E mail address:
